Tillandsia Capitata is an easy-to-grow air plant native to Dominican Republic. It is the smallest variety of Capitata, only reach 3-5 inches tall, but it is one of the most beautiful species. It keeps its beautiful maroon color all year round. Capitata produces offsets readily and is known for its prolific pupping tendency. After this air plant blooms vibrant purple flowers, it will die but the offsets (pups) grown around its base will continue the life cycle.

Frequent misting several times a week is necessary. Capitata will also benefit from a soaking bath every month. Give it a little shake off afterwards to make sure water doesn't collect in the bottom leaves to prevent rot. -
